Washington Nationals
Do you want to see history in action? Get Washington Nationals tickets and see if this team can finally win a league pennant or play in a World Series. The franchise, based in D.C, are finally starting to prove their potential and have been regulars in the postseason since 2005, winning the National League East three times (2012, 2014 and 2016). However, along with the Seattle Mariners, they are one of only two franchises to have never won a league pennant or played in a World Series.
Washington Nationals History
The 'Nats' were originally founded in 1969 as the Montreal Expos, part of the MLB expansion that included three other teams: Kansas City Royals, San Diego Padres, and Seattle Pilots (now the Milwaukee Brewers). The Expos were the first MLB team in Canada, as the Toronto Blue Jays were founded in 1977, but were then moved to Washington in 2005. Since the franchise's move to the US capital, things have been steadily improving for the Washington Nationals and they are now one of MLB's most consistent teams, winning the NL East division three times and having five consecutive winning campaigns. The Nats are a sure bet for the postseason in 2017, so just how far can they go this season?
Nationals Park
The Washington Nationals play their home games at Nationals Park. Completed in 2008, it is one of the newest stadiums in MLB and the first LEED-certified green major sports stadium in the country. Nationals Park has also been chosen to host the 2018 MLB All-Star Game, which will be the first time this event has taken place in Wahington DC since 1969. The stadium has a seating capacity of over 41,000 and lucky fans on the upper deck can get a view of the US Capitol.
