From Notting Hill to Burt Bacharach
Born in Dublin in 1977, Ronan Keating bagged a place in teen pin-ups Boyzone at the age of just 14 and was instantly positioned as their lead singer, guiding them to numerous number one albums and singles in both their Irish homeland and across Europe. He made his first venture outside the boyband in 1999 with his contribution to the "Notting Hill" soundtrack, and a year later launched his solo career proper with his debut album, "Ronan". Keating worked with New Radicals frontman Gregg Alexander once again on the 2002 sophomore "Destination", with Deacon Blue’s Ricky Ross on 2004’s "Turn It On" and Richard Marx on 2006’s "Bring You Home". After releasing albums themed around winter and the loss of his mother as well as a duets collection, Keating reunited with Boyzone in 2010 and continued to alternate between his solo and band duties throughout the decade. He also collaborated with the legendary Burt Bacharach on a full-length LP, pursued a film career with roles in "Goddess" and "Love Child" and served as a judge on the Australian version of "The X Factor". Solo hits, cover version and boyband classics
Having graced the arena stage since he was in his late teens, Ronan Keating is one of the most experienced live performers ever to emerge from a boyband. Fans should expect to hear many of the hits that proved he could cut it as a solo artist, including originals such as "Life is a Rollercoaster", "Lovin’ Each Day" and "The Way You Make Me Feel", his cover versions of Garth Brooks’s "If Tomorrow Never Comes" and Keith Whitley’s "When You Say Nothing At All" and solo versions of his duets with LeAnn Rimes ("Last Thing On My Mind") and Lulu ("We’ve Got Tonight"). But Keating remains proud of his pure pop roots and will often throw several Boyzone songs into his setlist, with their renditions of Cat Stevens’s "Father and Son" and Tracy Chapman’s "Baby Can I Hold You Tonight" particular favourites.
