All about Jose Gonzalez
With his family having fled Argentina, Jose Gonzalez grew up in a small suburb of Gothenburg, Sweden. The talented singer-songwriter started his musical career in the indie rock band Junip at the beginning of the 1990s. However, a decade later Jose Gonzalez decided to give his solo career a try, retrospectively making a fantastic decision. Releasing his debut album Veneer (2003), Jose Gonzalez moved away from rock and instead created an acoustic composition with touches of classical music, bossa nova and post-punk. Critics quickly agreed that Gonzalez hard work paid off, comparing him to Joy Division and Eliott Smith! In fact, Gonzalez enjoyed recording covers of the aforementioned bands, as well as Bruce Springsteen's "The Ghost of Tom Joad" and Massive Attack's "Teardrop".
The studio albums In Our Nature (2007) and Vestiges & Claws (2015) soon followed, pushing Jose Gonzalez's popularity out of his hometown and onto an international level. With new music on its way, this is undoubtedly the best moment to see him play live. So don't miss out and make sure you secure yourselves some Jose Gonzalez tickets now, right here at StubHub!
Fruitful collaborations
As a multidisciplinary artist, Jose Gonzalez has taken every chance he came across to work with other talented musicians! in 2006, the solo artist combined forces with Zero 7, becoming the vocalist of their tracks "Futures", "Left Behind", and "Today". Since then, Jose Gonzalez has alternated his solo career with multiple collaborations, including one with Swedish musician Jens Lekman, with whom Jose Gonzalez toured with. The most noticeable one up to date has been with the Göteborg String Theory project, a venture of several Sweedish and German songwriters and composers. This led to the release of album Göteborg String Theory (2010) and an accompanying tour. Currently, Jose Gonzalez finds himself playing with the Brite Lites, his newly formed band!
