Claptone first started making waves in the House music scene in 2011 with a series of digital singles on Shir Khan's Exploited record label. Featuring numerous samples, Claptone soon made a name for himself as a prolific remixer. The debut Claptone album Charmer was released in 2015. The album fuses numerous musical genres, including techno and house and includes songs like "Dear Life", "No Eyes" and "Puppet Theatre". Claptone also received huge acclaim for his remix of Gregory Porter's "Liquid Spirit" which became one of the biggest hits on Beatport in 2015. 2016 saw the release of a huge 37-track album entitled The Masquerade: Mixed by Claptone. This album features some of the DJs most popular remixes and songs and was accompanied by several shows where people with Claptone tickets were given a Venetian-style mask at the entrance.
